I am looking for recommendations/sites to buy manuals/ pfds for this car { 1998 Mercury Sable SW/LS 157, 00 miles}, I think I understood that some do not cover the 1998 Mercury Sable 24V Duratec.
I am looking for recommendations/sites to buy manuals/ pfds for this car { 1998 Mercury Sable SW/LS 157, 00 miles}, I think I understood that some do not cover the 24 valve duratec. I was upset at the about 330.00 for replacing the front disks, and 425.00 for replacing plugs and wires.{They did not even recommend replacing the PCV valve-{read that on one of your post that this needs to be done when you pull the intake} I am doing this on a very limited budget. All help and recommendations are welcome.

I might suggest eBay for original manufacturers manuals. They can be found for reasonable prices. Be warned, though that they are VERY technical, and call for many special tools. Most of the tools can be improvised, and many can be bypassed, but some are necessary to get a proper diagnosis.

For the DIY home repairman, I suggest the Haynes manuals. They are by no means complete, but they do cover the majority of repairs that are within the scope of the home repairman. I do not recommend the Chilton manuals, as they are too general, and do not distinguish well between different optional equipment.
