1998 Mercury Sable lighter repair

I need to repair the cigaret lighter. The lighter itself has come unscrewed and pulled out of the socket. How do you service the lighter socket? Must the console be removed where the ashtray is located? How do you remove the console for servicing the lighter socket if that is to be done?

No all you need to do is reach up under the lighter and screw the light back into the base, remove the spade from the side terminal first so you don't blow the fuse!

New to this sight, so I didn't know how to reply directly to you. I had to remove the console beginning at the console glove compartment and pull off the cup holder sonsole then the ashtray console containing both the ashtray and lighter. This gave me access to the back of the lighter and allowed me to screw it all back together. It was quite by accident that I figured out how to remove the consoles. Thanks for help anyways.
