Air Conditioning problem
1998 Mercury Sable V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 67000 miles

After idling with the ac on (blowing cold) for a few minutes, the ac shuts off automatically and the heater comes on. Could this possibly be the temperature sensor?
Also, after the car sits for a week or so, the open door light stays on with all doors shut. I cannot find the door sensor to check it. I see a cylinder unit near the door hinge encased in rubber and plastic. Is that the sensor button. All fuses look good. How where do I check the door open light?

If you have automatic temp control, press off and floor together with the key in ON position, then within 2 secs, press auto, post the code that comes up, as for the door, get a can of spray brakekleen, and a can of spray white lithiun grease, spray the door LATCH, liberally and open and close the door 5 times, repeat this 2-3 more times, let dry, then spray with the grease.
