1996 mercury sable. When I turn my heater on, my car fills with white fog and my windshield fogs up. Can you tell me what is the problem, and an estimate of how much it would cost to fix it.

It sounds like you need a new heater core. I would take it to a radiator shop and let them pressure test it. Make sure to put some towels in the floor to catch the antifreeze. :)
