1993 Mercury Sable The Battery is messing up

The battery was having steam come out of it. The vehicle would not start, but the lights, stereo and other stuff would come on.

Hello,

I suggest if you can jump start it and take it to your local parts store and have them test the battery and the charging system. Sounds like your alternator is over charging your battery and causing it to heat up. And has most likely killed your batterys CCA.
