Mercury Mountaineer brake problems

I've had this issue for about a year on my 2000 Mountaineer and the dealership and 4 other mechanics can't figure out what it is. When I'm comming to a stop my brakes make a faint whir/rub sound, as if they were warped (like rub. Rub. Rub etc). And when I do come to a complete stop my brakes make this eeerrrckk grind sound, and make that same sound when I let off to accelerate. Does it even 100X worse when it's wet/raining out. We have another 01' Explorer and a bunch of other Expl/Mounty's we've owned before along with an 05' Lexus LX470 and none ever made this sound.

It's driving me nutz. Everytime they've checked, the rotors look fine, calipers are fine etc. And I don't want to buy new rotors and everything if I'm still going to have the same problem.

Maybe this will help give some more info. Say I'm comming to a stop, whther red light or pulling into my driveway. If I put it in neutral right before I stop, it stops like normal with none of that eerrck noise. Same thing if I come to a regular stop but it's on an uphill angle, no sound. But if it's a regular stop at adownhill or sloping angle.

On my 1997 Mountaineer the caliper was only actuating on one piston If you mic the pads & find one end of the pad is worn more than the other end, this could be your issue.
