Transmission problem
2003 Mercury Mountaineer 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

Mercury Mountaineer, the ABS light comes on intermittently (goes off while driving or after so many restarts), the cruise control works rarely and now the transmission is starting to shift funny (it is hesitating the shift and the RPM drops off). Could this be the speedo sensor?

OK then we need to scan for "C" codes with a capable scan tool, most garages can scan for these, and Actron now has a hand held scanner for brake codes, I bought one on line for 114.00 Google Actron CP 9449 It will cost about 100.00 to pay some one to scan it. Check the coverage list before you buy it, to see that your truck works with this tool! I checked it for yo and it cover 97 - 05!
