Engine Mechanical problem
2005 Mercury Montego Two Wheel Drive Automatic 58,000 miles

Hi, every morning my car seems to not start that well. This morning is took many turns of the key before it finally caught and started. This has been getting worse over time. I noticed on my dash sometimes it will say oil pressure low for a split second then that will go away. I am thinking it could possibly be the battery. It can't be due to cold weather because it hasn't been cold here yet. The starter is working fine the gas just won't take. What could be wrong?

I know this is a long shot in the dark, but did you ever discover what was causing your car to do this. I also own a 2005 Mercury Montego and you described the problem I am experiencing to a perfect "T". This just started happening to me and in the mornings when it starts, I go to work and on my lunch break and when I leave my car is giving me problems where it will not start for me until I put the gas petal to the floor. So I am on the internet trying to find answers when I stumbled across your post and was really hoping you can help me by telling me anything you can by what you figured out what the problem is and how you fixed it. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
