1991 Mercury Marquis Ignition lock cylinder

I am trying to replace the ignition lock cylinder. My problem is that the key won't turn the lock cylinder anymore, so I can't push the button on the underside of the switch to remove it. How can I remove it with out being able to turn the cylinder?

drill the cylinder lock
use a screw driver to turn it
