My wont stop running!

I was at walmart and I started my car and the inition switch turned all the way round freely. I replaced it with new one and now I cant get the new one to start the car or shut it off when I crank it with a screw driver. I need help!

Hold on, if you put a new cylinder in, why are we starting it with a screwdriver? Please explain, in as much detail as posible what has been done trying to fix the problem!
