Engine overheating problem, thermostat sticking, have replaced thermostat, still overheats. What if I take the thermostat out completely? Will that cause any other problems?

Take thermostat out completely will only worsen problem. Is the radiator fan coming on?

May have residue build up in cooling system causing overheating and possibly why the tstat froze up. Try flushing radiator / cooling system
