1989 Mercury Cougar Automatic high miles

I went over a big bump last week and my car stopped. It acts like it wants to start when I turn the key. It just wont catch. I think it might be an electrical problem. But I don't know. Any ideas?

Check the fuel pump inertia switch. It is located on the left rear quarter pannel behind the wheelwell
