Electrical problem
1988 Mercury Cougar 6 cyl Automatic 72800 miles

Hi, on my 1988 cougar I have an electronic cluster with the warning lamps on each side. I have been noticing that my low fuel lamp wasent activating when I had low fuel and also my low washer lamp wasent either. The only lamps that work are my parking brake lamp. The check oil, check amp, check engine, and the seat belt lamp which only comes on when I start the car, which I guess it normal but. Other then that none of the lamps turn on for there specific operations.

If you guys have any idea what might be causing this problem let me know.

Thanks for your help!

Check number 18 fuse. It has a red wire with a yellow stripe, this fuse is for the low fuel light and the washer light. It goes to a module on the drivers side under the dash the module that has 3 other wires. They are, black, drk green w/ white stripe, yellow w/ black stripe. If the fuse is good and the module is getting power then the module itself could be bad.
