UV/Dye Test Vs Electronic Leak Tester

Well, I am so much confused about the differences between both methods. I have full idea how the dye test works, but I mess how the electronic leak tester works. I wonder if someone could explain a bit for me about that electronic device. Coz the dye test one is costy for the long run.
