Hello

I have a 1990 420SEL, V8 with 155k miles on it and the AC keeps going out. My mechanic says the problem is a drive belt connected to the compressor that keeps getting kicked off. The compressor itself is noisy, making a brief screeching sound when it first starts up, then it quiets and doesn't cause any problems. This is the third time I've replaced this thing, and neither I nor my mechanic know why it keeps coming loose. Any ideas?

Better check the A/C compressor pulley, if the bearing goes, it will eventually sieze altogether, then burn thru belts in seconds....
