2004 Other Mercedes Benz Models ESP malfunction and car won'

When I try turning on the car the engine doesnt start for mercedes e320 and I hear like a fan just getting louder and louder. But when I turn the key the air conditioning still works. Also on the display it says esp malfunction visit workshop. Any ideas on whats wrong with it?

You have a serious fault in your ESP system, perhaps even a control unit failure. This is why your vehicle is not starting. As for the AC anf fan you hear, these are operated off accessory power not ignition power. Essentially the vehicle does not have to turn on for these to operate.
