2000 Other Mercedes Benz Models Gas Gauge

I am wondering after a complete fill up and without too much excessive travel my vehicle gauge drops to the first quarter with atonishment I watch this happen all the time. It is a ML430 SUV. Is there an issue with the fuel pump, or something that affects this.

Your issue is being caused by your fuel level sensor. This component is part of your fuel pump assembly and will require replacement of this assembly. I would recommend bringing this to a dealer or experienced MB tech as this is one of the most difficult of all MB fuel pumps to replace.
