1999 Other Mercedes Benz Models crank shaft sensor

Vehicle cranks and runs but shuts off as soon as engine reaches operating temperature. Will not crank again until motor cools. Is this the crank shaft sensor gone bad?

It depends what's missing fuel or spark-you can blame the CPS if there's no spark occuring.

This is a common problem with the 112/113 engines. The crank position sensors are a common replaced part for these symptoms. In our shop we usually will see a code for the cps or sometimes no code at all. It is a good bet that the crank sensor is the culprit.
