I was driving down the road and my ML430 just died. After it set and the engine cool down it started back up, as soon as you started it back up and the engine started getting warm it died again
I have changed the gas filter, and the three new hoses started the car again the ML430 died after two to three minutes runing and the engines started warming up just like before.

I had the same problem with my 99 ML430. My engine would die out after after about ten minutes and then once it cooled down it would start back up again. It is the camshaft sensor. If it is damaged or worn out it will cause the engine to shut it self down as a safety precaution. It is an easy fix and the sensor is not very expensive. I hope this helps. Take care.
