Hi Guys, this winter my coworker was walking buy the front of my car---slipped on the ice ---and grabbed my hood emblem to catch his fall---breaking it off the hood. I bought a new certified Mercedes hood emblem online, thinking it would be easy to replace. I can not figure out how to pop off the old emblem! It has to be pushed up-and-out from the underside somehow---but I can't figure it out----any suggestions? It's probably something easy---but I can not figure it out---many friends have looked at it also. Thank You, Scott Fallon, Bristol CT

Hello -

Not sure which body model you have but I have attached the removal installation of both. Looks like you need a special tool. . ..

REMOVE/INSTALL MERCEDES STAR - AR88.40-P-4050E

3 Remove Mercedes star (1) upward from engine hood Carefully remove Mercedes star (1). Danger of damaging paint.
Install
4 Insert Mercedes star (1) from above into engine hood Carefully install Mercedes star (1). Danger of damaging paint.
5 Turn spring bracket (2) 90 ° to right with mounting tool Note correct installation positions.

Remove/install
1 Unclip Mercedes star (1) upward from engine hood with long wedge. Protect engine hood around Mercedes star (1) with adhesive tape to avoid damaging paint.
