1999 Mercedes Benz C280 heater vents

My heat in the car only blows on the front window and the two side vents. It doesnt work on the feet or the center vents I call the dealership and they said it was the heatermotor behind the dash which would cost alot of time and money are they correct? Is there any way of fixing it cheap?Can I go and take the vent flaps out so it blows through all vents

I had the same problem, First open up the hood and remove the engine cover, look all the way to the back of the engine compartment and try to locate a wire harness that is running against the top of the engine and locate a vacuume line which runs with it, this line must be broken causing the center vent from beeing operative, if the line is broken go the auto parts store and buy a rubber line (which will be connected to both side of the line) and that should fix your problem. Do not listen to the dealer.
