Brakes problem
1999 Mercedes Benz A160 4 cyl Automatic 115000 miles

My wife is buying a used car and the dealers mechanical report indicates in relation to brakes that there is a reading of 23.2 - can you please advise what this means and whether it is acceptable?

I would suspect that this is the measurement of the brake rotor thickness. More than likely it is rotor thickness in millameters. Unfortunately my MB software does not give me Euro model specs so I can't be for sure if this is within spec, but I can tell you that on the US model C230 of this year (which may very well use the same rotor) the min rotor thickness is 22.0mm. This would mean you are over by 1.2mm.

I agree with that. The min thickness is 22.0. You are over 1.2 so I think thats the problem. Maybe the previous owner put a brake not for that car.
