Spark plug firing order

V8 two wheel drive Automatic 140,000 miles.

I am trying to put the spark plug wires in the correct order. I was told that the firing order was located these number on the cover from left to right (1, 5, 4, 8, 6, 3, 7, 2) is this the correct firing order? If so how do I follow ie, which is right side, left to right. Please help.
