Electrical problem
1987 Mercedes Benz 300 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

After I replaced my fuel filter I had my wife start the car while I was under it to check for leaks. The fuel filter did not leak but the line leading to the fuel pump did. I foolishly attempted to tighten the connections to the fuel pump and got a good spark. The car stopped running and I have not been able to get it started since. Any help would be appreciated.

That was your first mistake, your wife helping you, should've got a friend, I cannot imagine that you got a spark? On a diesel, there are only 2 power wires, the alternator and the injection pump, you must have foolishly shorted one of those out, dumm, to get a spark, at any rate to answer your question, check and make sure you have power to the injection pump, and then re-primed the system, with the manual pump, then try starting it again.
