2006 Mercedes Benz 280 SRS light comes on

As you are driving the SRS light flashes on and then off and the gauges go to zero and then back up-if at night, lights go off and then back on-this happens frequently and is pretty quick.

This could be one of a couple things. First I would be suspect of software. MB vehicles have a considerable number of computers that often times produce software glitches, these require software updates installed by your dealer. Secondly you may have a short in your front SAM (signal acquisition module). This is a hub for communication data received and processed from sensors. When shorts occur in this module strange sometimes unexplainable electrical problems occur esp. In the dash. Both of these possibilites are going to require proper diagnosis with the proper diagnostic equipment.
