Transmission problem
1993 Mercedes Benz 190e Two Wheel Drive Automatic 185000 miles

i change the transmission filter on a 1993 mercedes benze 190e 2.3 and a metal peice was in the pan. It looks like a bullet it is about a inch long. And about 3/8 inch round on one end and about a 1/4 inch round on the other.I change the filter because the transmission was slipping in 3rd and 4th gear. Could this be the problem. I cant tell were the piece came out from. And do I need this piece.

I went through all the exploded views of the internals of your trans, 31 pages, and the only thing I saw that matched your description that could case your slipping problem and could make it's way into the pan was a push rod that closes the #2 band. The only way your're going to know for sure is to take it to a shop that does rebuilds on MB transmissions and ask them. Without actually see the part, I can only guess. Hope this helps.
