My Mazda B2300 has 200,000 miles on it, its a 2.4 liter engine. The problem that I am haveing is, the tachometer will never go over 1000rmp. It seems to be running rough also. Some times when you first start it the tach works just fine for about a block. I have never had a problem like this before.

I have a 99 Mazda B2500 with 150K and a 2.5 engine. I am experiencing a similar issue, but I am also having problems with my dashboard lights going out. I have lost the ones illuminating the fan switch, the battery meter and the top of the speedometer. For a while I lost the one for the cruise control on the steering wheel, but it came back. Past repairs for the vehicle have included the DPFV and the IAC valve, (caused backfiring and stalling with no check engine light, thank you Hanes manual) Rear passenger brakes (smoked), and multiple rear axel pinion seals. Normal maintenance has been kept up, first by the dealer, then by me after the backfiring and stalling issue (2 times they couldn’t find an problem).
Any help would be appreciated; I can find no literature on the wire harnesses or ground faults that could cause this issue.
