1997 Mazda Truck 4.0L V6 - Intermittant high idle

Between 5 & 10 minutes in to my drive and intermitantly throughout I get a high idle of up to 3200RPM. I just changed the Throttle Position Sensor and ensures the throttle assembly and cable was not sticking but it did not fix the problem. What else could be the problem and how do I diagnose/fix it?

Ok give me some more info on what it going on here. I need as much info as possible ok so I will ask some questions here so I can better help. What all have you done? Have you done a tune up if so what did you change have you done any other maintance like filter? Have you done any checkes on the IAC (idle air control) motor? Get back to me with what you can and we will go from there.

Tune up was done last year, this week I put on new air & fuel filters, PCV Valve, TPS, fuel system cleaning. Have not checked the IAC. How do I do this?

Ok then unplug the IAC motor and do an ohm's reading of the motor (not the wire harness plug). Get back to me with what you find.

OK that is good not if you would test the coolant temp sensor (not the sender). Just simply unplug it and check resistance across it and give the temp at the time of the test. If you do this when it is cold then the air temp will be fine. Also have you cleaned the mass air flow meter? Get back to me and we will go to the next step.
