I just replaced the tires on this vehicle. The tire store tech said I had a rusty toe cam on the left rear and I may have to have it checked or replaced. What are toe cams and is this a nessesary repair or just a money maker?

Well, I don't know ma' friend, but I've never heard of a toe cam or toe cam adjustment. I ran it through my rsearch index 2 different ways and only came up with a question mark. This one probably goes along with muffler belts and changing the air in your tires. Hope this helps. By the way, if you find out what a "toe cam" is, I'd appreciate it if you'd pass it on.

Just spoke to a Mazda service person. Toe cams adjust the rear axel when you have an alignment done. Now I have to ask the tire store how they did my (paid for) alignment when the toe cams were rusty? Were they too rusty to use. Why is the deaLership telling me I'll need to have all 4 wheels aligned after the toe cam are done?

Dealer is correct. If they make any a adjustments to the "toe cam", we list it as caster/camber adjusters, they will have to recheck the front end again. I've never seen a caster/camber adjuster I couldn't losen with a little "heat".
Thank you, I learned something today.
