The car runs find except when it trys to idle. Half the time it bogs out. It seems like the idle speed was set way to low. My question is what is the approiate idle speed on a 1985 mazda rx7 with around 144,000 miles? Also how exactly can I go about adjusting the idle speed?

I take it that this is a carb engine 12a.

Sounds like one of the air jets in the carb might be clogged with dirt. You can do an in car rebuild of the top of the carb if you need to.

The idle speed should be around 700-800 rpm give or take, depending on how it runs
