1995 Mazda Protege air conditioning

I have a 1995 mazda protege. The air conditioning intermittintly works. If the car is cooled down and it is relatively cool outside it works fine. However once the car has heated up and/or it is hot outside, the air conditioner just blows hot air, occasionally blowing cold air - but cycling back to just blow hot air. I have had it recharged (or at least they told me it was recharged). Any help would be appreciated.

Need more information after you had it recharged did it work fine for a day or so and then start doing the same thing or did it do the same thing all the time if it worked fine for a day or so then you probabley have a leak and that needs to be repaired. If thats not the case does it cool well while driving on the highway but not when your stoped if thats the case then your ac condensor fan is not functioning more than likeley but like I said would have to have more information I hope this helps

Thanks sdalton for replying. It seems like it worked fine for about a week. I took it back into where they recharged it - but they said everything looked fine. I was frustrated with them because they had no answers, when it clearly wasnt working so I left. Now I am trying once again to figure this out.
