I had my belts replaced because one popped and every since then the altenator has not been charging the battery. It will run for 4 days and then the battery dies. Ive went thriough 3 altenators and the results are the same. The shop says the altenator is charging, but a few days later the car and I are on the side of the road. New battery, new altenator, new connectors and it still dies! I dont know what else to do, please help, Thanks, JC

The altenator has the same volts as the battery, 12v while off and running, so the altenator is not charging. Its new and has been tested and so is the battery. The altenator has two connecting cables, the power suppy line, which has a bolt to screw on and a plug in connector, thats it. I tested the voltage on the plug in as well and it reads the same as the battery on one of the two teeth, but the second one gives no reading. I checked the 15A meter fuse and its good as well as all the other fuses in the car. I dont know what else to look for and the only thing thats not giving a reading is one of the two connectors inside the plug itself and im not sure if both should give a reading anyway. Im lost on this one!

The second oone that has no voltage is the one comming from dash charge light. When key is on before start voltage flows from fuse through light and grounds at alt. This is exciter for alt to start producing once engine is started voltage flows out on wire removing ground from light it goes off. Problem in dash or wiring to and from to alt.
