1994 Mazda Protege. Hit a snow bank and now my car dies when I accelerate. I had previously changed the fuel filter, ignition coil, starter. What could this be?

The problem turned out to be that a wire came loose inside the mass air flow sensor and shorted out the signal to the fuel pump. Cut open the top of the sensor and put it back together and siliconed the top back on. Then I found out that the distributor was bad (pickup coil). Priced it at a shop for 515, but found one (brand new) at a salvage yard for 90. Don't fear this distributor. Took me 25 minutes. It is keyed and fool proof.

Car runs great now. Finally.
