I cant get the alternator out of my car to put in a new one

Hi.I have a 1995 mazda mx3 precidia that needs the alternator replaced. I have it loosened but theres no space to get it out. What do I do? Please help. Thanks

Can't say I've ever done one of those. You might as well purchase a Haynes or Chiltons repair manual for it. You'll need it for future repairs. Mazdas are not known to be self explanatory as some of the old standby american ones were. It might have to come out through the wheelwell with the tire off.
