I have a 2004 Mazda3 with 73000 miles. My problem is that my three passenger doors wont automatically unlock using the unlock buttons and the remote keyless entry. They each can still be locked automatically and can be unlocked manually. The driver door lock still unlocks and locks normally.
Do you
have the same problem?

I have the same problem with my 2005 Mazda3

It would happen, and eventually go back to normal after a few hours/days. Then things would be fine another few months. Its back, and it seems permanent.

Not the most mechanically inclined, but I pulled apart the front 2 doors. All doors lock fine electrically, only the drivers will unlock electrically (FOB, or buttons). I hear no motor noises in the other doors when trying to electrically unlock. There is no mechanical movement in the locking mechanisms when trying to electrically unlock. Connnections in the doors seem fine (driver/passenger door behind panel near the electric locking motor) Fuse is intact.

Given the intermittant problem initially, I am thinking electrical problem between the drivers motor and its connection to the other doors (through the passenger door?)

Additionally, using the passenger electrical button will lock, but not unlock, and no noise is heard from inside the panel when trying to unlock.

Try swapping the door unlock relay in the relay bolck on the right end of the dash with another relay to see if the symptoms follow the relay. If it doesnt change anything you may want to have the Body controller scanned for codes to see if there are any stored that may lead to the problem. Could be the anti-theft unit or a door switch not working properly.
