I can't afford another $734 for my 2009 smog check in California! In 2007 I had to have the "sensor unit" in the gas tank pulled out and replaced in order to pass. I've heard that this can be a chronic problem with Mazda trucks. My 'CHECK ENGINE" light has been on for 18 months. What's going on and how can I get this taken care of more cheaply?

I need some serious answers. Thank you so much!

Hi Diane,

Thank you for the donation.

When the Check Engine Light is showing, an error has been detected n the engine management system. You would need to retrieve the Diagnotsic Trouble Code to know what is causing the problem and proceed with rectification.

Contact your local Autozone or Advance parts outlets for a free scan to retrieve the code and let me know the exact DTC so that I can assist in getting the problem solved.
