1993 Mazda MX6

I've had this car for three months, and it's been nothing but trouble.

A few nights ago, my car was broken in to. Thankfully they didn't break the glass, but they did take a lot of stuff. What struck me as odd is that recently I'd been having quasi-premonitions that my car could be broken in to, so I had taken extra care to make sure it was locked. Alas, the thieves got in.

Strange thing too, is that they obviously tried to get inside the door itself for some reason, yet the speakers remained.

BUT NOW. When I engage the locks, they don't remain locked and can be opened as if they were never locked.

I'm wondering if something they did caused my locks to malfunction or what, because they worked before. But now I just want to make sure I can secure my car.

The door shuts all the way.
The lock seems to engage (I tested the mechanism with the door open to make sure it worked), but pulling the handle unlocks the door now.

Thank you.

Very strange. When I went to my car last night just on a whim and checked my locks. They worked. And they continue to work.

So hopefully it was just a hiccup and won't happen again but I will continue to seek further diagnosis.
