Having an issue with removing the bottom bolt as it won't go pass the pulley that is below the alternator I believe it is a compressor or some kind of hydralics. Need help with how to remove this unit so I can replace the alternator

Hi djohnson1930,

Thank you for the donation.

That is the power steering pump.

If removing the pulley is sufficient, then you can skip the steps for removing the pump and disconnecting hoses.

POWER STEERING PUMP
NOTE:
Use a suitable container or rags to collect fluid when disconnecting pressure and return lines.

Removal & Installation

1. Remove drive belt.
2. Remove pulley nut.
3. Remove pulley from pump and pump bracket.
4. Disconnect power steering pressure switch electrical connector (if equipped).
5. Place mark on steering pump and pressure line fitting for reassembly purposes.
6. Disconnect pressure and return line connections from steering pump.
7. Remove pump-to-bracket bolts and nuts.
8. Remove pump from vehicle.

To install, reverse removal procedure.
Bleed air from system.
Inspect system for leaks. Similar)
