1993 Mazda Miata oil around my spark plugs

Hello - I just noticed while changing my spark pluge to the oem champion plugs that the cylinder closest to the firewall - the plug had oil around it - on top of the plug - I had a 93 toyota camry with the same issue but cant remember the fix - would changint the valve cover gasket be the fix? HELP ASAP!

Yes, that is what is wrong, the gasket has lost its seal around the plug well, allowing oil in. Those 4 cyl Camrys always came loose. You should take care of this, the coils dontlike firing into oil, it can cause premature failure
