Hello,

I have the truck listed above that is having engine issues. It running really rough and will shut off if I do not keep the throttle open. I recently replaced my injectors, cap and rotor, distributor, spark plugs, and wires. I also changed the fuel filter and alternator. This was happening well before I replaced all these parts. And the ECU was replaced in 2013. The check engine light is not on, and I am not quite sure how to check if there actually is any codes. After replacing all those parts the issue still persists. I have also cleaned the ignition control valve. I am not sure what is causing this issue. Can anyone help me better understand what could be the issue? I cleaned the idle control valve not the ignition control valve. Just for clarification.

Thank you.

Good afternoon my name is Roy and I will assist.

Check for vacuum leaks. That is the most common cause for rough idle and stalling. Look at all hoses for cracks or breaks.

Hello Roy,

Thank you for your reply, I will check them. What would be the best course of action to check them? I have heard of using seafoam but I am not sure about that stuff.

Thank you.

Sea foam is for flushing the oil system and intake system. To check for vacuum leak, you need whats called a smoke machine. It injects air into the intake system and when there is a leak, the smoke will appear. This test can be done by a shop and runs about 50 bucks.
