I got in an accident in March 2009 and before the accident had absolutely no issues with my car. But after the accident, it started squealing. I have had the belts, pulleys, and alternator replaced and it is still squealing. It squeals when I start it up every time, when I turn my air or heat on, and when I stop. I would like to get an idea about what could be wrong before I take it to the dealership to get fixed again.

Hi windchick12,

Thank you for the donation.

There are 2 possible causes for the squealing :

1. Belts not correctly adjusted. Recheck the belt adjustment and tension. This is the more likely cause as new belts sometimes required readjustment after installation.

2. Faulty harmonic balancer, ie a faulty crank pulley. It would cause the outer ring to slip on the main crank pulley.
