I hear a high pitched noise only when I accelerate, and the belts are fine. If I tap repeatidly on the gas it sounds like a churping noise. Can compression be a problem, cause I wound up spraying some engine degreaser on the engine the other day and the engine itself caught on fire, so I sprayed it with water and wound up getting water down inside where the spark plugs are. That dryed out and the car runs alright now, just got the noise left over

Be very wary of the alternater seizing on these. Typically happens when hot and will snap the belt.

Keep an eye on the temp gauge.

You can try to tighten the belt, but this is usually early warning signs on this one.
