1997 Mazda 626 sluggish under load

1997 626 runs fine until accelerating up hills, rough and weak up hills. I have seen other posts with regard to the intake boot may be cracked, before I tear into it could this be a cause or should I be looking in other directions (injectors) I have repalces the fuel filter previously but to no avail. 162 k miles. Thank you.

I would be needing a little more info on your engine size and transmission type.

1997 Mazda 626 LX, 181,000 Miles, Automatic Transmission and 2.0 Litre 4 Cylinder. No engine light as of now, I will need to ask the wife and kids as I rarely drive it.
