1988 Mazda 323 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

WHEN TURNING OFF IT IS PRE-IGNIGTING, IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE THE TWO VACUCM ADVACE HOSES AROUND THE RIGHT WAY?IF SO WHICH WAY IS THIS?THANK YOU YR ANSWER IS A HUGE HELP!

WHEN TURNING OFF IT IS PRE-IGNIGTING, what do you mean by this-is it because the engine continues to run when you turn off the key or what?

Thank you for yr reply mate. Yes that is correct. The motor will not stop intanstly when I turn the key off. It continuies to do about 3-5 revoltions and smells strongly of unburnt gas. Maybe the timing to advanced?

Okay Mate recheck the ignition timing and also drop your idle speed it might be too high for a base idle.
