2006 Mazda 3 Blower

My blowers started out with a small delay, which over days and weeks and months, turned into a longer delay, even up to thirty minutes before they would turn on after i switched the fans on. Now, they just dont work at all. I have gained access from the glove box side, to the actual blower, but not to the motor. Is this the best route that im taking? I am having a hard time removing the blower from the housing, and im not trying to break anything. Should i come from the other side to get to the motor? If not, what is the trick to getting this blower out? Thanks

The blower motor is extremely difficult to replace in the mazda 3, from the side you are working on from your picture is the passenger side however the motor connects from the other side and is very hard to reach. To reach the motor and the fan resistor you have to remove the gas pedal, break pedal and the steering column to reach all you need to free the fan and the resistor. Once you have done this then you can pull the fan out from the passenger side.
