After replacing MAF fuel mileage has gone down

Hi. Yesterday I had my mass air flow sensor changed. I had error code p0101 for my diagnostic machine. I noticed during my issue was was burning gas so fast. Well today (day after part was replaced) it’s still kind of burning fast. Is there a timeframe to where the part reprograms or could it be another problem? Help please.

Hi,

Has the check engine light stayed off? Also, are there any odors from the vehicle that could indicate it is running too rich on fuel? Does the engine idle and run properly? Is the air filter clean and not plugged?

As far as poor fuel mileage, how bad is it?

Hi. No, there isn’t any smells. The engine light is off. When I’m parked is does rumble a little bit. The air filter was changed last month with my oil change.

It the gas mileage also jumps. Like today it went from 140 to 137 to 135 back to 137 now it’s at 127 and I didn’t drive much. (Miles until empty)

Hi,

Is it possible for you to get your hands on a live data scan tool? If possible, let me know what the short term fuel trims are. That will tell me if there is a fuel issue going on. Also, it may not be a bad idea to check for engine vacuum leaks. They can cause a rough idle and drivability issues.
