I want to know if there is a way to help the oil pump pick up pressure after the whole engine has been reconditioned. I put the whole engine together but forgot to prime/oil up the oil pump so now the oil pump is running dry.

You can prime the pump by removing the oil filter and using an oil can pump oil down the filter supply hole, this should run down into the pump and help with prime, also fill the filter with oil before re-fitting, pull the spark plugs and crank the engine, this will give a faster crank speed to help lift the oil as well.
