Loud pop sound from left rear suspension

While putting vehicle in drive or reverse, the back wheel area looks like it sticks then pops, checked suspension for bad bushings or loose bushings, found nothing. Replaced left rear CV axle, still same problem. Could this be a rear differential problem? Wheel hub looks okay too.

It does sounds like the rear differential is having an issue. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response.

If it is the differential here are guides to help you remove it and how to check the driveshaft coupler (make sure there is no play).

Check the fluid condition of the unit as well you can use the fill or drain plug to take a sample.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
