I'm a 44yo female who tinkers with "my own" car because I have a little know how, however I am dealing with some repairs I HAVE to get help with but need to educate myself as well.
I have a 2005 Honda Pilot LX with 343k miles on it and runs great. I absolutely LOVE this truck! I Recently have had some troubles, clicking and a choking type thing going on. Needed to replace CV axles, a tune up was needed at the time and got a 02-sensor code on my generic car reader. After The CV axles were repaired the mechanic told me my flashing D light was a transmission code and after scanning it read to replace the 4th gear transmission pressure switch. So, I Replaced that along with both upstream and downstream 02 sensors. After these repairs we got in to give it a drive and while idling it ran hot. The thought was air strapped somewhere in cooling/radiator he said, then he removed the radiator cap started the engine and let it run a couple minutes then shut it off. Replaced the cap started and drove off; it did not run hot again but the VTM 4 light is on (it has shown up before, and I was told It was my sensors) (TPMS sensors) Get my tires balanced. Getting the same dialogue however I had a scan done that I was able to read for myself, and it gave off 18 Honda codes relating to TPMS, Low tire pressor all around, VTM-4 Failure, Low battery voltage, and the airbag cut off indicator.

I Run these codes by a few mechanics I know and it is suggested a faulty or bad/wrong part could be the issue. After doing some looking into that I'm getting mixed information. Meaning the colors of the pressure switches pertaining to which color is for which gear i.E. Black or white for 4th gear and vice versa. I purchased and was sold black after asking was it the correct one for the correct gear at the auto part store. (This was before I knew the way to tell could be the color) I just knew and was reminded to make sure to say 4th gear is what is needed. Now I'm getting and reading conflicting information which is how I wound up here because I am searching for some answers.

Please help,
Do the colors matter? Which is for which? Are these serious issues to have with the pilot at this age and these high miles. Do these codes mean these are the last miles left in it? I would be the second owner of this vehicle It was well taken care of before me I purchased it at 288k in 2020, and I have kept up with it myself. Only other repair done was the radiator maybe 2yrs ago now. Thermostat as well then. About 3 months ago the radiator cap gave out while driving and I replaced it within minutes.

Brake/rotors all that done when needed always. Have not always purchased brand new tires over the years. No accidents.

Can these be fixed? Is it worth the fix?

Hello, I can help you, yes the colors do matter on the oxygen sensor. This is a four wire sensor correct? Here is the connector view so you get the location of the wiring correct, also we only handle one problem per thread so please ask questions about problems one at a time. please post your new question here, you must be logged in.

Clear the codes once the wiring is correct. I cant tell you if the car is worth it you need to decide that for yourself, all I can say it has a lot of miles and cars only last so long. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes, Ken
