Lost power while driving

While driving on highway lost power, cannot turn on.

Good afternoon.

The car needs three things to run. It needs spark, compression and fuel pressure. One of them is missing.

If you have some starting fluid, spray it into the air filter and see if it starts and stalls. If it does, it is a fuel delivery issue. If it does not then the other two need to be checked.

Thank you. It was the starter it went, causing the power to go out.

Okay, a starter does not cause the car to shut off while driving. How did you determine this?

Did someone check the battery? If there is low voltage, that will cause it and then the starter will not work to try and restart.

There was a short in it causing the power to go out. The battery is new.
